JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is coordinating with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) to block the YouTube account of the suspect in the alleged blasphemy case, Saifuddin Ibrahim. Because, he is still actively uploading videos containing SARA elements.

"So we have coordinated with Kominfo to determine whether the account will be blocked," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, to reporters, Friday, April 1.

In Saifuddin Ibrahim's YouTube account, the last video was uploaded on Friday, April 1, at around 10.00 WIB.

Then, another video was uploaded on the same day. The video was titled 'Good Muslim, Should Take Care of An Jiang'.

Gatot also said that the YouTube account would not be completely blocked. Because, there are several things that are considered important in the investigation process.

"There are certain things that cannot be deleted immediately, for what reason, for the sake of investigation," said Gatot. Saifuddin Ibrahim had gone viral on social media because of his statement. He asked the Minister of Religion to delete 300 verses of the Koran.

The reason behind his request is because the verses are considered to be the cause of radicalism.

Saifuddin Ibrahim is also currently suspected of being in the United States. Bareskrim also cooperates with the FBI to find the whereabouts of the suspect in the alleged blasphemy case.
