Lebaran Homecoming Allowed, People Who Haven't Injected Boosters Still Must Be Tested For COVID-19

JAKARTA - Head of the COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) Suharyanto stated that people are allowed to go home to celebrate Eid this year. This is in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) some time ago.

"People who want to go home for Eid are welcome, it's allowed," said Suharyanto on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, Thursday, March 31.

Suharyanto stated that his party had drafted a domestic travel arrangement (PPDN) for the 2022 Eid homecoming. He said this letter would be issued soon.

There are several rules in the letter, one of which is that travelers have received vaccinations and boosters. For domestic travelers who have been vaccinated with the third dose, said Suharyanto, they no longer need to do a COVID-19 test.

Meanwhile, people who have just received the second dose are required to do an antigen swab test. "Meanwhile, for the first dose of vaccine, it is mandatory to show 3x24 hour PCR," he explained.

Then for travelers with special health conditions, Suharyanto explained that they are required to include the results of a 3x24 hour PCR test. Not only that, people with special conditions are required to attach a certificate from a general practitioner or a doctor from the local government hospital.

As for children under 6 years, they do not need to do the test. However, the companion must meet the travel requirements.

"For children aged 6-17 years, there is no testing but must show the second dose of vaccination," explained Suharyanto.

Suharyanto emphasized that all the rules made were not meant to limit travelers. All things that are regulated, he said, aim to prevent additional cases from occurring when mobility occurs in the middle of a long holiday.

"The bottom line is that this Task Force is not meant to limit travelers," he said.

But hopefully the homecoming that is being carried out can continue safely, smoothly, and there will be no significant transmission," concluded Suharyanto.
