Puan-Anies Paired For 2024 Presidential Election, PDIP: Please, Public Wishes Must Be Allowed

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) DPP, Bambang Wuryanto, responded to the emergence of a duet discourse between DPR Chair Puan Maharani and Governor Anies Baswedan for the 2024 presidential election.

According to the man who is familiarly called Bambang Pacul, the proposed duet is reasonable. The other candidates are no exception.

"If someone makes this up, that's fine," said Pacul, Wednesday, March 30. "It's called public discourse, or the public's will must be allowed," he continued.

Even so, the Chair of Commission III of the DPR reminded again that his party already has rules on the issue of the 2024 presidential election. The final decision rests with the Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Ketum screwed up, yes we will and this must be done," he stressed. Previously, the chairman of the PDI-P DPP Puan Maharani opened the opportunity to have a duet with the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election. .

"It's possible (a duet with Anies), nothing is impossible in politics. All these dynamics can happen. Well, we'll just have to see next year how the story goes, political stories," said Puan, Wednesday, March 23. The chairman of the DPR even often meets Anies accidentally when he is present at a number of events. During the meeting, he did not hesitate to communicate. So, he was surprised if there was even an impression of being hostile to Anies.

"The communication, if there is a need, likes to communicate, and if there is an event there is also communication. Why does it seem that I am hostile to Pak Anies, isn't it," he said.
