TERNATE - The Ternate Basarnas Search and Rescue Office, North Maluku (Malut), at around 2:20 p.m. WIT moved quickly to rescue a wooden longboat on the Ternate-Bacan route, South Halmahera, which had an engine problem.

The South Halmahera Bacan SAR Unit team managed to rescue a fisherman named Muhamad Ritno (38) who was waiting in a raft house on FADs in the waters of Kukupang Island.

The FAD was hit by waves due to bad weather so that it was damaged and asked Basarnas for help, which eventually evacuated the victims.

He stated that the Joint SAR Team arrived at LKP and found the victim at the coordinates given by the victim. Then at 21:45 WIT, the Joint Team managed to evacuate the victim safely to the Rescue Boat 309 Basarnas Ternate.

The victim was then taken to Babang Harbor, then the victim was handed over to the family.
