DPR Commission XI Boycotts Kahar Muzakir's Inauguration

JAKARTA - The duet of the election of Isma Yatun and Haerul Saleh to lead the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has caused internal turmoil for the Golkar Party. As a result, the Golkar faction reshuffled its membership composition in Commission XI.

This rotation of members of the DPR RI Golkar Faction is stated in the DPR RI Golkar Party Fraction Letter Number SJ.00.1105/FPG/DPRRI/III/2022 which was signed by the Chairman of the DPR RI Golkar Faction Kahar Muzakir and the DPR RI Golkar Faction Secretary Adies Kadir as of March 17, 2022.

One of those removed was the chairman of Commission XI of the DPR, Dito Ganinduto. Now Dito has been transferred to Commission II of the DPR.

As his replacement, the Golkar faction placed Kahar Muzakir in Commission XI, who was previously a member of Commission III of the DPR. Dito, who was also the People's Representative from the Electoral District of Central Java 8, was removed because he was deemed to have failed to escort candidates for BPK members from Golkar.

In addition, Dito is also considered unable to protect the interests of the Chairman of the BPK, Agung Firman Sampurno. As for Agung Firman Sampurno, he is none other than the eldest son of Kahar Muzakir.

Originally, Kahar Muzakir was sworn in today, Wednesday, March 30. Unfortunately, Kahar's steps in taking Dito's chair were not smooth.

Even faintly heard, a number of members of the faction in Commission XI boycotted Kahar Muzakir as chairman of the Commission. As a result, Kahar failed to be appointed as Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR.

The reason is that a number of members of Commission IX of the DPR were not present so they did not fulfill the quorum.

"The majority of the factions did not come, they don't know the reason. Maybe this is a sign of rejection from the factions," said a member of Commission XI of the DPR after being met on the sidelines of an internal meeting.

Separately, a researcher at the Forum for Community Concerns for Parliament (Formappi), Lucius Karus, assessed that the rotation that took place in Commission XI of the Golkar Party faction was indeed different. It doesn't look like an ordinary rotation.

This rotation is more visible as the aftermath of the election of BPK members who allegedly involved the interests of the elite Golkar faction in the DPR.

"This is certainly dangerous if the interests of the elite faction influence the position of its members in the DPR. The placement of members is becoming increasingly random and far from professional considerations," he said.

According to him, this incident also confirms the alleged interests that participated in the election of BPK members by the DPR. It is not only the fact that politicians are elected, but the possibility of another game that is more nepotistic in nature is also seen.

"This can be seen from the accompaniment of relations between the elite of certain factions and the leadership at BPK who seem to have an interest in certain figures as their successors in BPK," he said.

Actually, not only Dito who was thrown into another commission, a number of other members were also like that. But fortunately for the member of Commission XI of the DPR, Muhammad Sarmudji, he suddenly fell into the vice chairman of Commission VI of the DPR.

Dismantling the composition of members of the Golkar Party Faction DPR RI continues to be carried out. Throughout March 2022 alone, the Golkar Party Faction carried out 4 reshuffles, namely the first rotation as of March 17, 2022, the second rotation as of March 17, 2022, the third rotation as of March 21, 2022 and the fourth rotation on March 22, 2022.
