BANDUNG - The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) is investigating a case of alleged corruption originating from the flow of Bandung City Government (Pemkot) grant funds for the activities of the Bandung City Scout Movement Kwartir Branch.

Head of the Legal Information Section of the West Java Prosecutor's Office, Dodi Gazali Emil, said the status of the case had now been raised to the level of investigation after investigators examined a number of witnesses.

"We are asking for information from around 19 people who are scout administrators and Bandung City Government officials," said Dodi in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.

The investigation into the case, he said, had been carried out since February 14, 2022. Then the case was raised to an investigation status on March 24, 2022.

According to Dodi, the Bandung City Government grant to the Kwartir Branch of the Bandung City Scout Movement related to the alleged corruption amounted to IDR 2.5 billion in 2017, IDR 2.5 billion in 2018, and IDR 1.5 billion in 2020.

Currently, according to him, investigators have raised the status of the case to the investigation stage because they have obtained two pieces of evidence related to the alleged corruption.

However, the West Java Prosecutor's Office has so far not announced the determination of the suspect involved in the corruption of the scout grant funds.

"Witnesses related to the alleged corruption case will be summoned by investigators for questioning on April 4, 2022," he said.
