KPK Calls Against Head Of Bappilu Democrat Andi Arief, Letter Sent Again To His House In Cipulir

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) recalled the chairman of the Democratic Party's Election Winning Body (Bappilu), Andi Arief. The summons will be sent back to his house in the Cipulir area, South Jakarta.

"We will reschedule by calling the person concerned at the previous address. We will send the letter to the address in Cipulir, South Jakarta," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, Tuesday, March 29.

The KPK hopes that Andi Arief will come to fulfill the summons as a witness. Moreover, the statement from the Democrat Party politician is needed to investigate the alleged bribery ensnaring the North Penajam Paser Regent (PPU) Abdul Gafur Mas'ud and the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC Treasurer Nur Afifah Balqis.

"The summons in question as a witness is certainly part of the process of resolving the case being handled by the KPK," said Ali.

"Of course, information from witnesses is important for the KPK investigation team to clearly and clearly reveal the intended act," he added.

Meanwhile, Andi Arief asserted that he had never received a summons from the KPK, so he was not present at the summons on Monday, March 28. This was conveyed through his Twitter account, @Andiarief__.

In his tweet, Andi admitted that his home address listed on his KTP was in Lampung. He also denied having received a summons on March 24.

According to Andi, he was in Lampung with his whole family and the house he had rented in Cipulir was empty. So, he again asked the KPK not to continue to mention that he had received a summons.

"I ask the KPK spokesman to put an end to the lie that I have received a call. Show me who delivered, who received," he wrote via his Twitter account.

"Please note that March 20-27 I will be in Lampung with my whole family. There is no one in my rented house. Was it a ghost who received the summons," he concluded.
