JAKARTA - The government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), continues to make preparations for the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago. For example, the preparation of the concept for the construction of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Palaces.

The Directorate General (Dirjen) of Cipta Karya, Ministry of PUPR, revealed that there will be a separation between the Presidential and Vice Presidential Palaces at IKN Nusantara. This is done for security reasons.

"Why are the Presidential and Vice Presidential Palaces separated at IKN? This is a provision," said Director General of Human Settlements Diana Kusumastuti as reported by Antara, Saturday, March 26.

"If the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Palaces are merged, when there is danger later, the two palaces could be threatened. Thus, the separation of the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Palaces is due to security reasons," he continued.

According to Diana, the PUPR Ministry has discussed with the Ministry of Defense regarding this matter. From the results of the discussion, it was agreed that the Presidential Palace and the Vice President cannot be combined, so they must be separated.

"The functions are separate for each, for security reasons," he said.

The Ministry of PUPR has officially announced the Contest for the Concept of Regional Design and Building in the Capital of the Archipelago, one of which is for the Vice President's Palace Complex.

The location of the RI Vice President's Palace area at IKN is in a separate location from the RI Presidential Palace area. The land area for the Vice Presidential Palace complex at IKN is 14.8 hectares.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR invited the community to be involved in the development of this Nusantara IKN. The Regional and Building Design Concept Competition in the Capital of the Archipelago aims to invite the involvement of the general public in the construction planning process, so as to get the best design.
