Not All Residents In IKN Nusantara Location Districts Enjoy Household Gas Flow

KALTIM - It is hoped that the connection of household gas flow will be evenly distributed in the district where the State Capital City (IKN) is located, namely Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan (Kaltim).

The Regional Secretary of North Penajam Paser Regency, Tohar, said that the program from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is needed by residents. He wants the quota for household gas connections to be increased.

"There are many wishes from the people of North Penajam Paser Regency regarding the connection to the household gas flow of the ESDM Ministry program," said Tohar in Penajam, Saturday, March 26.

Residents who have not yet received a household gas network, he said, want to be accommodated immediately, so that they can enjoy the connection to the flow of household gas.

Since two years the ESDM Ministry program has been running in North Penajam Paser Regency, he said, it has not accommodated all households in the area.

"Households in the North Penajam Paser area that received the house gas network program, only 9,354 household gas flow connections," he said, as reported by Antara.

"This number only accommodates three villages and nine sub-districts throughout North Penajam Paser Regency," he said.

According to him, geographical conditions and residential areas in North Penajam Paser Regency, which are far apart, are an obstacle in installing household gas flow connections.

However, said Tohar, the district government continues to push for the fulfillment of the people's desire to get the gas connection.

The connection of the household gas flow, he said, is a strategic step for the central government to replace the use of petroleum, namely by increasing the use of natural gas for the household sector and small customers.

The construction of a natural gas distribution network for households, he said, is a national priority program that aims to diversify energy as an acceleration of reducing the use of petroleum.
