KENDARI - The Police of South Konawe Resort, Southeast Sulawesi have named three suspects in the case of the beating of a teacher at SMP Negeri 6 Konsel allegedly committed by students and their families.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Korean Police, Iptu Henryanto, said the three suspects named were two 9th grade students at the Konsel 6 Junior High School and one adult male.

"We have determined the three suspects, an investigation has been carried out," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 24.

The three suspects are a student and his colleague who are both in grade 9. Another perpetrator is the student's family.

He said, for the purposes of examination, his party plans to secure the adult suspect.

He said the three suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code on beatings, a subsidiary of 351 of the Criminal Code.

Currently, the two students suspected of having beaten their teacher have been detained by the police. Both were secured at the Sector Police Headquarters or the Palangga Police Station, Konsel Regency.

The Head of the Palangga Police, Iptu Rusmin, said the two students were detained because his party could not detain minors.

Previously, a sports teacher with an honorary status at SMP 6, Konawe Selatan Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, initials J (29) was suspected of being assaulted by students and their families while giving swimming practices to their students.

The beating took place in Sangi-sangi Village, Palangga District, Konsel Regency, Southeast Sulawesi on Saturday (19/3).

The student then went home, returning shortly after with his mother and cousin. The perpetrator's mother not only beat him, but also blasphemed the honorary teacher.

"The reported person immediately assaulted the victim by hitting the chin, then his cousin and two colleagues also came to persecute him," he explained.

As a result of the beating, the teacher suffered injuries to his left chin, left knee, back of right leg. The victim then reported to the Palangga Police, South Konawe Police.
