JAKARTA - The National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan will build a new headquarters for three TNI units. Completing it, IKN will be filled by 30-50 thousand TNI soldiers from the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) General TNI Andika Perkasa said the number of soldiers who would be stationed at the IKN was beyond the current strength of the TNI. So that the process of recruiting new soldiers will be submitted to the Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto.

"So the presence of these additional personnel, with their units, with their defense equipment, we will also propose additional personnel to the Minister of Defense between 30-50 thousand new personnel from three dimensions, outside the current TNI strength," said Panglima Andika, quoted from General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube, Tuesday 22 March.

He explained that the addition of TNI soldiers did not come from new soldiers, but would be drawn from all units in Indonesia.

"From the Navy, Air Force, Army. Then we will take the replacement from the new TNI recruits in the future," he said.

Commander Andika admitted that his party is currently preparing various needs to build a new Military Regional Command (Kodam) and its facilities in the IKN Nusantara area.

The new TNI headquarters is estimated to require 4,500 hectares of land. Later, after the function is built, it will be integrated with the three dimensions of the TNI.
