Floods Hit A Number Of Areas In Samarinda

SAMARINDA - Several areas in Samarinda, East Kalimantan have been hit by floods due to heavy rains since early Tuesday, March 22.

"The waterlogged areas include seven sub-districts spread over three sub-districts", said the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Samarinda City, Suwarso, in Samarinda, Tuesday, March 22.

Quoted by Antara, the three sub-districts that were hit by the flood were North Samarinda Sub-district, there were two sub-districts, namely East Sempaja Sub-district covering RT 36, RT 37, RT 38, and RT 50 and South Sempaja Sub-district, namely in Bumi Sempaja Housing, because apart from this area, on the banks of the Karang Mumus River, is also in a low-lying area.

Meanwhile, in Sungai Pinang Sub-district, the areas that were flooded were the Airport Village and Temindung Permai Village, Sungai Pinang Dalam Village, and Gunung Lingai Village.

Meanwhile, in Samarinda Ulu Subdistrict, it is located in Sidodadi Village at RT 30 and RT 40, S Parman Street, RT 36, and Simpang Empat Lembuswana as well in Air Putih Village which includes Pangeran Suryanata Street, Pangeran Antasari Street, and  Kadrie Oening Street.

"The flooded areas have varying heights, between 10 cm to 50 cm. Meanwhile, the water level (TMA) in the Benanga Dam reaches 7.92 meters", he said.
