The 7-year-old Boy Who Was Lost In The Current In Sumenep Has Not Been Found Yet, The Search Is Extended To The Sea

JAKARTA - It has been three days since the 7-year-old boy who was lost in the river has still not been found. A joint team from elements of the police, TNI (Indonesia Army), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sumenep, East Java, continued the search to the coast.

"The search on the third day has been extended to the mouth of the river in the coastal waters of Talango Beach", said Head of the Public Relations Subsection of the Sumenep Police, AKP Widiarti, Monday, March 21, as quoted by Antara.

The search this time was carried out by a joint team, namely BPBD, Sumenep Water Police, Police Sector, and Talango Military District Command, using a boat owned by Sumenep Water Police.

Search by tracing the mangrove trees on the coast to the vicinity of where fishermen catch fish or what is called "pagan".

"If on the first and second day, the search was carried out along the river, then on the third day it was extended again to the sea", Widiarti explained.

The girl who drowned in the river was named Vidya Talitatus Sofiyah (7) on Saturday, March 19 at around 4:45 pm from Panggulan Hamlet, East Kebundadap Village, Saronggi District, Sumenep.

The disaster that happened to the child occurred when the victim returned from the place where she was studying the Koran not far from her house. The victim went home with her aunt and grandmother.

At that time, the victim passed through a flooded road due to the overflowing river water. The victim fell and was dragged by a very fast river current.

The victim's grandmother Hasanah and her aunt, Eva, had tried to help Talita, but the river current was very strong, making both of their efforts failed.
