Couple Found Dead In Car In Mataram, Gas Station Receipt Found In Mandalika Area

JAKARTA - A pair of men and women in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, was found dead in a car parked in front of a shopping complex in the Rembiga area.

Head of the Mataram City Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Kadek Adi Budi Astawa, said his party evacuated the two bodies after receiving information from the public.

"This morning at around 08.30 WITA, we received a report from the public regarding the finding of two bodies in a car", said Kadek Adi, Monday, March 21.

Following up on the information, the Mataram Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team together with the identification team from the police and the Bhayangkara Hospital Mataram, went directly to the location of the findings.

"From the results of the TKP (scene), we confirmed that there was a four-wheeled vehicle in which two people were dead. There was foam coming out of the mouths of the two victims", said Kadek Adi, quoted from Antara.

In the identification process at the location, his party has found the car with the engine still warm and the inside cold with foggy glass.

"The first witness also said that the first time the car was found, the engine was still running and the AC (air conditioner) was on", he said.

Then the second witness stated that the four-wheeled vehicle had been parked since Sunday, March 20 afternoon.

"So it is estimated that the car will run and be air-conditioned for eight to 12 hours", said Kadek Adi.

Apart from that, clothes and food were also found inside the car. There is also a note or receipt for the purchase of fuel oil at the gas station in the Mandalika area.

"The receipt is dated March 17", he said.

Regarding the identity of the two victims, it is known that the body of a woman with the initials K, from Batulayar, West Lombok Regency. As for the male initials LH, from Gunungsari, West Lombok Regency.

"From the identity cards of the two, the man is married and the woman is not. They were both born in 1990", he said.

Furthermore, now the two bodies have been taken to the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital. To find out the cause of death for both of them, the forensic doctor has done an external post-mortem.

"The forensic doctor said that from the results of the victim's physical examination there were no signs of violence, so we plan to investigate through an autopsy", he said.

However, Kadek Adi ensured that the autopsy could be carried out pending the approval of the victim's family.

"So we have informed the families of the two victims about this sad news. So for an autopsy or not, it is back to the approval of the family", said Kadek Adi.
