LEBAK - The government of Lebak Regency, Banten Province, has a shortage of state civil servants (ASN) because many are entering retirement or retirement.

"There are only a few ASN staff for the sub-district office that serve the community and they are very short," said Head of Regional Assistant (Asda-I) for Lebak Regency Government Alkadri in Lebak, Antara, Sunday, March 20.

The cause of the shortage of ASN personnel in Lebak Regency is due to the limited recruitment of vacancies organized by the central government. Based on data from ASN in Lebak Regency in 2015 it was over 12,000 people, but now there are around 8,000 people.

The reduction in ASN personnel is up to hundreds of people per year entering retirement in all regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

In addition, ASN who are still active are reported to have died due to illness or accidents.

Therefore, his party every year proposes to the central government to continue to open the acceptance of prospective civil servants (CPNS).

This is because the shortage of ASN personnel will certainly have an impact on services to the community. Moreover, continued Alkadri, the Lebak Regency area is so wide with hilly and mountainous topography.

Currently, the population of Lebak Regency which has about 1.3 million people, it is assumed that one ASN serves 200 people. "We hope that the central government will open vacancies for civil servants every year," he said.

He said, so far, the Lebak Regency Government has not appointed honorary employees, because it can burden the region's finances. Likewise for government employees with work agreements (PPPK).

Currently, PPPK salaries are now the responsibility of the regions and are no longer covered by the general allocation fund (DAU) from the central government.

"We ask the central government to increase the CPNS quota, so that it can be fulfilled in all OPDs," said Alkadri.

Meanwhile, Siti Samsiah, a civil servant/ASN admits that in 2023 she will retire as an employee of the Lebak Regency Cooperatives and SMEs Service. "We will retire next year, because we have entered the age of 58 years," he explained.
