Police Say Money From Victims Of Fraud In The Binomo And Quotex Cases Can Be Returned, But Depends On The Court's Decision

JAKARTA - Head of the General Information Section (Kabagpenum) Kombes Gatot Refli Handoko said the refund of the victim's money from the two suspects of fraudulent investment fraud depended on the court's decision.

"It can be returned depending on the court's decision," said Kombes Gatot when contacted by reporters, Sunday, March 13.

Kombes Gatot explained that currently the police are in the process of confiscation of assets suspected of being the result of Indra Kenz and Doni Salmanan's fraudulent actions.

"We are in the process of looking for assets. We confiscate the assets suspected of being the result of a criminal act," he said.

Regarding the confiscation of assets, he continued, the police carried out with the permission of the court.

"All assets that we have secured, we coordinate with the public prosecutor. Later the prosecutor will hand it over to the court. Everything goes back to court," he said.

Kombes Gatot said the mechanism for refunding the victim's money was in court.

"The mechanism of the asset court. We only assist assets that are suspected of having committed a criminal act in question," he said.

Meanwhile, the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) said the losses of Binomo and Quotex binary options victims could be returned.

Deputy Chairperson of LPSK Achmadi said the victim's losses could be returned through a restitution mechanism or compensation using the perpetrator's assets confiscated by law enforcement officers.

"The victims can apply for protection to the LPSK for an assessment of their losses," said Achmadi in an official statement received by reporters in Jakarta, Sunday, March 13.

Previously, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police had named Indra Kenz as a suspect and made arrests related to the Binomo case.

Bareskrim is also investigating the assets and flow of funds from Indra Kenz for confiscation.
