JAKARTA - The Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo appreciated the achievement of the first and second doses of vaccination in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) which was ranked at the top nationally.

"Yogyakarta is in the top ranking for vaccination activities where both doses are already above 97 percent," said Listyo Sigit when reviewing the simultaneous vaccination at Sleman City Hall (SCH), Sleman, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 12.

He hopes that the coverage of the second dose of vaccination in DIY will soon follow the first dose, which first reached 100 percent.

"Thankfully, we hope that within the given time period, the three doses can be optimized," said Sigit.

Acceleration of vaccination in DIY, he said, needs to be done considering that this province is one of the tourist destinations as well as the location for holding a number of international events, including the G20 presidency.

"So we want to make sure the whole series of activities can run well, all the people are awake," he said.

In addition to ensuring the health of residents, he believes that the acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination will also affect economic growth in DIY.

The targeted population to follow the vaccine at SCH is 3,500 doses.

On that occasion, the National Police Chief also distributed social assistance with a total of 2,300 packages, with details of 100 packages being received at the Sleman Hajj Dormitory, 700 packages at Sleman City Hall, and 300 packages for each Polres area of the Yogyakarta Regional Police.
