SERANG - The Banten Police Narcotics Directorate together with the Pandeglang Police succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of 23 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine on the highway connecting Tanjung Lesung and Sumur, to be precise in Banyuasih Village, Cigeulis District, Pandeglang, Tuesday, March 8, at around 09.40 WIB.

In this disclosure the officers managed to arrest 7 suspects, namely ISB als Budi (44) residents of Wanasalam Lebak, HD als ERIK (35) residents of Malingping Lebak, SPM alias PARMAN (51) residents of Jakarta, AF als ROHMAN (34) residents of Cikeusik Pandeglang, ES als JANA (37) a resident of Mandalawangi Pandeglang, HS alias HERLI (21) a resident of Mandalawangi Pandeglang, and AS alias ANAN (48) a resident of Mandalawangi Pandeglang.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol. Shinto Silitonga, said that the disclosure of the 23 methamphetamine smuggling came from public information about suspicious activities of local fishermen and non-local people carrying 2 suitcases in the morning.

Based on the report, personnel from the Banten Police Narcotics Directorate and the Pandeglang Police Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation.

"When they arrived at the location, officers finally secured 3 people in the Kijang Innova car, on the edge of the highway connecting Tanjung Lesung and Sumur. When they were secured, there were 2 large suitcases containing methamphetamine drugs," said Shinto during a press conference at the Banten Police, Wednesday. , March 9th.

During a search, the two suitcases contained 23 large packages of methamphetamine weighing about 23 kilograms. In detail, the red suitcase contained 12 large packages of Chinese tea brand Guan Yingyang containing methamphetamine, weighing about 12 kilograms. And inside the black suitcase were 11 large packets of Chinese tea brand Guan Yingyang containing methamphetamine, a total of about 11 kilograms.

AS alias Anan admitted that the goods were taken using a fishing boat to a source on the west coast of Sumatra.

"The suspect took the methamphetamine using a fishing boat to the West Coast of Sumatra, then it will be circulated on the island of Java," said Shinto.

Furthermore, the investigators of the Banten Police's Narcotics Directorate and the Pandeglang Police's Narcotics Satres carried out developments and subsequently arrested 4 other suspects at the dock of a boat carrying methamphetamine.

It is known, the fishing boat carrying a suitcase containing methamphetamine was anchored on the coast of the Muara Baru fish auction, Kertajaya Village, Sumur District, Pandeglang. And when it was confiscated by the officers.

"The evidence that was secured was around 23 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 1 unit of Kijang Innova car, 1 unit of cruising boat and 1 airsoft gun," added Shinto.
