YOGYAKARTA - Two traditional markets in Yogyakarta, Demangan and Pingit, received distribution of 6,000 liters of simple packaged cooking oil from PTPN. This cooking oil is immediately accepted by traders.

Head of the Yogyakarta City Trade Office, Yunianto Dwi Sutono, said that the actual target for the distribution of cooking oil was 24,000 liters.

"The rest will follow. Hopefully they can be distributed soon because the allocation has already been made," he said in Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

Simple packaged cooking oil is distributed directly to traders at a price of Rp. 12,500 per liter. It is expected that traders will sell to consumers according to the highest retail price (HET), which is Rp. 13,500 per liter.

Traders who get distribution of cooking oil are traders who have entered the PTPN data. Every trader also signed some kind of commitment or integrity pact to sell according to the HET of simple packaged cooking oil.

Yunianto hopes that the distribution of simple packaged cooking oil can meet the needs of the community so that the queues of residents to buy cooking oil, as happened in other areas, do not occur in the city of Yogyakarta.

Besides Demangan and Pingit Markets, the distribution of cooking oil from PTPN is also planned to be carried out at Kranggan Market and Beringharjo Market.

"However, we also hope that the distribution of this cooking oil can be directed to other markets, such as Kotagede Market and Legi Market which are located in southern Yogyakarta. So that the distribution is even," he said.

Apart from PTPN, the efforts taken by the local government to meet the demand for cooking oil are collaborating with Bulog and the DIY Government to carry out regular market operations.

"It can be in the sub-district or in the market according to the observations of conditions in the field," he said, who also continues to strive to meet the demand for bulk cooking oil in traditional markets.

With these various efforts, Yunianto hopes that the supply of cooking oil during Ramadan and Eid can be fulfilled.

"Not only cooking oil, but other basic needs must also be fulfilled and not cause turmoil in the community," he said.
