JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has filed an appeal against the decision of the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) regarding the dredging of the Mampang River.

The Jakarta Administrative Court previously punished Anies, who lost the lawsuit, by ordering him to completely dredge the Mampang River. This lawsuit was filed by the residents of the Mampang River flood victims.

Information regarding Anies' appeal is listed in the Jakarta Administrative Court's Case Investigation Information System (SIPP). An appeal was filed on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

"Appellant: Governor of DKI Jakarta Province," wrote a statement on the SIPP PTUN Jakarta website.

Contacted separately, the plaintiff's attorney, namely a resident of the Mampang River flood victim who is now the appeal, Francine Widjojo said that her party had only just learned about the appeal filed by Anies.

Francine admitted that she would still discuss this matter with the plaintiffs who were appealed before determining the next steps. "We will discuss it first, then we will inform you," Francine said in a short message on Wednesday, March 8.

It was stated in the decision that the Administrative Court required Anies to carry out a total dredging of the Mampang River to the Pondok Jaya area, which has not yet been completed. In addition, Anies also had to build sheet piles on the river around Pela Mampang Village.

"Declaring that the defendant's actions are canceled in the form of the dredging of the Mampang River which has not been completed to the Pondok Jaya area, and the construction of river sheet piles in the Pela Mampang village is not completed. Requires Defendant to carry out the dredging of the Mampang River completely to the Pondok Jaya area. Processing the construction of river sheet piles in the village Pela Mampang," said the verdict of the Administrative Court.

In addition, the Administrative Court also sentenced Anies to pay court fees of IDR 2,618,300. There are several claims made by residents of flood victims around Mampang River which were not granted by the Jakarta Administrative Court. The lawsuit is to compensate residents for losses due to flooding of around IDR 1 billion.

The DKI Provincial Government claims to have started dredging the Mampang River before the Jakarta Administrative Court decision was issued. The dredging of Mampang River is still ongoing.
