For KSAD General Dudung, South Sumatra, A Region That Is Zero Conflict

PALEMBANG - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman admitted that he really recognized South Sumatra (Sumsel) as one of the safe areas or zero conflict, social, economic and political.

Where, the conditions that make South Sumatra zero conflict are influenced by the fact that the people in the area still strongly adhere to the culture of family harmony, are religious and think forward.

"I know that because I served in South Sumatra for a long time. I was a Danyon, Dandim Lubuk Linggau, Dandim 0406/Musi Rawas (2004 - 2006), Dandim 0418/Palembang (2006 - 2008) and lastly served as Danrindam in Muara Enim. In fact, during that time I have never found any demonstrations," said Army Chief of Staff General TNI Dudung after a friendly meeting with the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru and his staff at Griya Agung, Palembang, as reported by Antara, Monday, March 7.

So with these conditions, he said, making South Sumatra a friendly area for immigrants so that they will feel at home and peaceful because they get a warm, safe, and comfortable welcome.

"The conditions have not changed, in fact, I am amazed to see that development in South Sumatra is very fast compared to when I was here. Hopefully, South Sumatra will be even more victorious, surpassing other big cities," he added.

General Dudung ensured that the Indonesian Army has a commitment to always be present in the midst of the community to overcome whatever difficulties they experience while providing concrete solutions in solving these problems.

This includes continuing to mobilize all the capabilities of the Indonesian Army to help local governments mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by succeeding in vaccination attacks and encouraging efforts to accelerate economic recovery affected by COVID-19.

"My instructions to all ranks, no matter how small, which is a problem for the TNI people, will be present and must be a solution in these conditions, including mitigating COVID-19," he said.

Meanwhile, the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, said that he really appreciated the commitment of support from the Army to help the government overcome all kinds of problems.

"We hope that we will continue to get this encouragement so that development programs for the welfare of the people will continue to run and continue to receive guidance so that South Sumatra remains a zero-conflict area," he said.
