JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Bagas Aziz Pangestu as a witness in the investigation of the case that ensnared the suspect inactive Regent of East Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, Andi Merya Nur (AMN).

"Today, Bagas Aziz Pangestu was summoned and questioned as a witness for the suspect AMN," said Acting KPK Spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, March 7.

Andi Merya Nur, Ali continued, is one of the suspects in a corruption case related to the procurement of goods and services within the East Kolaka Regency Government in 2021.

From that case, the KPK has ensnared Andi Merya Nur (AMN) and the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Kolaka Regency, Anzarullah as suspects.

In the construction of the case, the KPK explained that in March-August 2021, Andi Merya and Anzarullah prepared a grant proposal for the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in the form of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Fund (RR) and the Ready-to-Use Fund (DSP).

Then in early September 2021, Andi Merya and Anzarullah came to the Central BNPB in Jakarta to deliver a presentation about the application for logistics and equipment grants where the East Kolaka Regency Government received BNPB grants.

The funds are relocation and reconstruction grants worth Rp. 26.9 billion and ready-to-use grants of Rp. 12.1 billion.

Then, the follow-up to the presentation was that Anzarullah asked Andi Merya to decide that several physical work projects sourced from the BNPB grant were carried out by Anzarullah's confidants and other parties who helped manage them. Thus, the grant funds are disbursed to the East Kolaka Regency Government.

In addition, Anzarullah specifically worked on a package of consulting services for planning the work of two bridge units in Ueesi District, East Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, worth Rp. 714 million. There was also expenditure on consulting services for planning the construction of 100 housing units in Uluiwoi District, East Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, worth Rp. 175 million.

Andi Merya agreed to Anzarullah's request. With this agreement, Anzarullah agreed to give Andi Merya a "fee" of 30 percent.

The KPK suspects that Andi Merya asked for Rp250 million for the two work projects that Anzarullah will get.

Anzarullah had first handed over Rp25 million to Andi Merya and the remaining Rp225 million was agreed to be handed over at Andi Merya's private house in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province.
