The Reason The Supermoto Troupe Was Desperate To Break Through The Kelapa Gading Toll Road, There Was No Transaction Gate At The Entrance

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya stated that one of the reasons why the 'supermoto' group was desperate to enter the Kelapa Gading-Pulogebang Toll Road was because there was no transaction gate at the toll road entrance.

"The one in Kelapa Gading I saw used the open-entry system first but paid at the end," said the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Law Development and Enforcement at the Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police AKBP Jamal Alam in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, March 6.

Then, Jamal explained that there are two types of toll road systems implemented in Jakarta, namely open and closed.

"There are toll systems that are closed and open, if the vehicle is closed, enter, take the ticket, then pay at the final toll gate. If the one that is open, you can enter first, pay at the end or enter directly, pay immediately, exit automatically," he said.

Related to this, the police will coordinate with the manager of the Kelapa Gading-Pulogebang Toll Road, namely PT Jakarta Toll Road Development (JTD) to anticipate that similar incidents will not happen again.

"Maybe there is some kind of initial toll gate so that it can filter violations of toll road users who are prohibited from entering the toll road," said Jamal.

Previously, a group of supermoto riders crossed the Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang Toll Road on Saturday at around 03:00 WIB.

Investigators of the Gakkum Sub-Directorate of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya investigated and ticketed 21 units of Supermoto motorcycles involved in the incident.

Jamal explained that the article imposed on the supermoto riders was Article 287 Paragraph 1 of the LLAJ Law No. 22 of 2009 with a maximum penalty of 2 months imprisonment and/or a maximum fine of Rp. 500 thousand.

Furthermore, officers detained as many as 21 supermoto wheeled vehicles of various brands as evidence of a ticket at the Sub Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Pancoran, South Jakarta.

"While we are holding our vehicle law enforcement procedures, we are securing it in the Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya," said Jamal.

On the same occasion, a group of supermoto riders who are members of the "Supermoto Otomotif Jabodetabek" club admitted their mistakes and apologized to the public.

"We apologize for the inconvenience, the news is true, we entered the toll road and we did not know that it was a toll road due to night conditions and did not read the sign," said Reza, as a representative of the Jabodetabek Automotive Supermoto at the Gakkum Sub-Directorate Office of the Ditlantas Polda.
