JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government noted that there were 13 fallen trees and branches or broken branches due to the extreme weather that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings.

Mila detailed that there were four fallen trees, while the rest were broken. However, there were no casualties as a result of the fallen tree.

Based on reports received, the fallen trees occurred on Jalan Gunung Sahari Sawah Besar, Jalan Awaludin Tanah Abang, Jalan Cempaka Putih Barat, as well as in Taman Buyan Tanah Abang.

The incident of a fallen tree on Jalan Gunung Sahari 7A, Sawah Besar District resulted in damage to electrical cables and hit residents' motorbikes.

All locations where fallen trees and splinters occurred have been handled by the Central Jakarta City Forest and Parks Sub-department Tree PJLP officers.

The extreme weather that hit DKI Jakarta had previously been warned by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

The BMKG issued an early warning starting at 13.10 WIB regarding the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the Greater Jakarta area on Saturday.

In a written statement received in Jakarta, the potential for rain could occur in the DKI Jakarta area, including in Central Jakarta such as Gambir, Sawah Besar, Kemayoran, Menteng and Tanah Abang.

BMKG predicts this condition will continue until Saturday at 16.00 WIB.
