The Attorney General's Office Confiscates 296 Plots Of Land Belonging To The Corruption Convict Jiwasraya Benny Tjokro

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has confiscated the assets belonging to the convict Benny Tjokrosaputro in the form of 296 plots of land with an area of 1.5 million square meters in the corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero).

"Thursday, February 24, 2022, the Executing Prosecutor of the Central Jakarta District Attorney immediately followed up on the findings by submitting a request letter not to transfer ownership rights to the Sukawangi and North Tambun sub-districts," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information Center, Ketut Sumedana, quoted by Antara, Friday. , March 4th.

The move aims to prevent the transfer of ownership of the 296 parcels of land.

In addition to submitting the request letter, the Executing Prosecutor also asked for a copy of the deed of sale and purchase of the lands for the purpose of confiscation of execution.

The assets belonging to the convict Benny Tjokrosaputro which were successfully confiscated were 177 plots of land covering an area of 935,435 square meters in Sukamekar Village, Sukawangi District; 38 plots of land with an area of 272,766 square meters in Srijaya Village, Tambun Utara District; and 81 plots of land with an area of 337,543 square meters in Srimahi Village, North Tambun Regency.

As a form of orderly administration of the execution of the confiscation, on Tuesday (1/3) the signing of three Minutes of the Confiscation of the Convict's Property (Pidsus-38A) against the 296 parcels of land.

Furthermore, with this finding, the Executing Prosecutor of the Central Jakarta District Attorney immediately handed over the results of the execution confiscation of the 296 parcels of land to the AGO's Asset Recovery Center through the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor's Evidence and Loot Management Section.

The confiscation of the assets belonging to the convict Benny Tjokrosaputro was carried out in accordance with the Supreme Court's (MA) Cassation Decision on August 24, 2021, which stated that the convict Benny Tjokrosaputro was sentenced to pay compensation of Rp. 6.07 billion.

The Execution Control Team at the Directorate of Extraordinary Legal Efforts, Executions and Examinations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes together with the Executing Prosecutor of the Central Jakarta District Attorney will continue to search for the property belonging to the convict Benny Tjokrosaputro, in order to fulfill the replacement payment of Rp6.07 trillion .
