Amazing Video Of Attempted Kidnapping By An Elderly Woman In West Jakarta, Police Can't Confirm The Perpetrator

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police is still investigating the detention of an elderly woman suspected of kidnapping in the West Jakarta area. The video has also gone viral on Instagram.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, AKP Ferdo Elfianto, said that his party had not been able to conclude the motive of the elderly woman who was secured and went viral on social media.

Because as of Friday, March 4, this afternoon, his party is still conducting an examination of a number of witnesses and the families of the victims.

"We are still investigating everything, still under investigation. This afternoon we want to hold a case," said AKP Ferdo when contacted by VOI, Friday, March 4, afternoon.

Police are also not sure whether the person in question is the perpetrator of the kidnapping or not.

"We haven't talked about whether this is a kidnapping or not, we can't confirm if it's a kidnapping. We're still investigating everything first," he explained.

Although his party already has evidence and statements from witnesses, the police are reluctant to rush to conclude the alleged kidnapping case.

"(From) the existing evidence, the existing witnesses, we will investigate everything. Then we will hold the case this afternoon," he said.

Previously, the Instagram account @jakartabarat24jam uploaded a video showing an elderly woman holding two small children on the roadside in the Kembangan area, West Jakarta on Thursday, March 3, evening.

Then a motorcyclist recorded the incident and followed behind until it stopped at the side of the road. After that the video was cut and immediately showed an elderly woman being detained by local residents.
