JAKARTA - The Golkar Party is concerned that its cadre Azis Samual has been named a suspect by the Jakarta Metro Police because he is suspected of being the mastermind behind the beating of the KNPI chairman, Haris Pertama. Golkar asked Azis Samual to cooperate during the examination.

"If what the police say is true, of course we are concerned about the problem that befell Mr. Azis Samual," said Golkar Party Legal Affairs DPP Chairman John Kennedy Azis, Wednesday, March 2.

John asked Azis Samual to cooperate in undergoing a police investigation regarding the case that happened to him.

"We hope that later Pak Azis will be cooperative so that it is clear and clear what the problem really is," he said.

Nevertheless, John encouraged all parties to continue to apply the principle of presumption of innocence against Azis Samual.

"Because our country is a state of law, everyone is equal before the law, but of course we still adhere to the principle of the presumption of innocence, and this is still under investigation," said John.

John said the Golkar Party would also monitor the progress of the Azis Samual case before providing legal assistance.

"We will study first, of course against Golkar cadres who are in trouble, we will monitor the progress first," said John.

Previously, investigators from the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya named Golkar Party politician Azis Samual (AS) as a suspect in the alleged beating of the DPP Chairperson of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Haris Pertama.

The determination of the suspect against Azis Samual was carried out after investigators conducted an examination of the person concerned, examined witnesses and held a case.

"The results of the examination of the US's brother, the investigators named the US's brother a suspect under the suspicion of Article 55 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 170 of the Criminal Code," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol.
