JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno expects more direct flights to Bali.

He received news that various airlines from Singapore, Australia, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Japan had the desire to fly to Bali.

"There is also a desire for a direct flight from Moscow (Russia) to Denpasar (Bali, Indonesia) although it still has to be followed up," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 1.

Currently, the opening of Bali to foreign tourists (tourists) is said to be running smoothly with 1,600 people who have come to the area and 50 percent chose to stay in bubble quarantine hotels.

"There is also the addition of bubble hotels which will certainly have a positive impact on the economic sector," said Sandiaga.

On March 14, 2022, Bali together with Bintan and Batam will become a test site without quarantine for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) / foreign tourists.

Bali was chosen as the pilot site for the pilot project because the second dose vaccination rate was generally already high compared to other provinces.

If the results are good, he said, this policy will be implemented in all parts of Indonesia as of April 1, 2022.

In addition, flights from China to Manado, North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) will also be prepared considering the large number of interests from the bamboo country who want to go on holiday to Super Priority Destinations, Likupang, North Sulawesi.

The opening of a new route for the China-Manado flight is said to still have to be studied.

Sandiaga said, business people in the aviation sector (airlines) and travel agents (travel agents) in the tourism sector assessed that the China-Manado round-trip (PP) route had great potential.

"They hope that after the reopening of international flights from Ngurah Rai (Bali) international airport on February 4, 2022, followed by many foreign airlines reopening routes to Bali, it is hoped that in the near future they will also open a new China-Manado PP route," he said.
