After Being Investigated By The Police, 1,000 Boxes Of Cooking Oil In Baubau Are Finally Sold To The Public

JAKARTA - As many as 1,000 boxes of cooking oil previously found in a warehouse in Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, have now been marketed regularly.

The head of the Baubau Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Najamuddin, said this cooking oil was previously found not to be distributed to the market. Finally, now it has been distributed by the warehouse to shops to be marketed to the public at a set price.

"There were 1,000 boxes that were found, so 500 boxes per month were issued to maintain the stock. If all of them were taken out, now they are gone," he said in Baubau, Tuesday, March 1, quoted from Antara.

Previously, a sudden inspection of the Baubau City Government Food Task Force, in this case the Trade and Industry Service along with the Resort Police, found that 1,000 boxes of cooking oil had not been distributed to the market in one of the warehouses, Wajo Village, Murhum District, Baubau City, last Friday, February 25.

At that time, the warehouse was given three days to confirm with the producer or factory regarding the price of Rose Brand cooking oil so that it had not been distributed to the market.

"Yes, yesterday, what we were waiting for was not given a price. So, this has already been issued and has been distributed to shops, and I ask for the data so that the store does not sell above the price because it has been given a maximum price of Rp. 15 thousand in the market. ," he said.

According to Najamuddin, the actual price given from the factory was Rp. 13,300.

"However, if it is also sold for Rp. 15 thousand, I think it is still reasonable, the important thing is not to sell it at Rp. 22 thousand. The retailer who receives it should not sell above that price because the highest retail price (HET) has been given," said the former Head of the Baubau Port Area Police.

He explained that the gradual release of cooking oil stocks from the warehouse was to anticipate monopolies and vacancies, especially before Ramadan and Eid 1443 Hijri.

"Directives from Industry and Trade and factories are also to keep vacancies from being released once, so this month 500 boxes are issued, and the price is HET," concluded the former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Buton Police.
