JAKARTA - The North Jakarta Police revealed a case of robbery carried out by four teenage boys in Kelapa Gading, with the victim Aris Panjriansyah (38) Officer for Handling Public Infrastructure and Facilities (PPSU) which occurred on Jalan Acordion, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Tuesday, 22 February, then.

An official statement was delivered by the North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Wibowo who said that the suspects consisted of three minors with the initials AZ, HN, JS and one adult male with the initials AP (19).

Wibowo said that the suspects who were underage were known to have committed robbery only once. AZ, HN and JS admitted that they wanted to do the action because they followed the direction of AP, who was considered the captain because they were the oldest of the three.

"Of the four perpetrators, three are minors, namely AZ, HN, JS, and the rest AP is 19 years old," explained Wibowo, to reporters at the North Jakarta Metro Police, Monday, March 1.

"Specifically the perpetrator with the initials AZ with HN (underage suspect), he only did one time," he added.

Wibowo revealed that AP, as the captain, was the mastermind behind the robbery. According to police information, the incident began when the four suspects were gathered together in Pulo Gebang, East Jakarta, Tuesday, February 22, at 02.00 WIB.

Then, continued Wibowo, AP was thought of to carry out the burglary and he invited the three people to help him.

“The one who had the idea to invite to commit the theft with violence was AP. So this AP is the most senior among the others. He was nicknamed the captain," he said.

“Because they agreed, the suspects finally left for Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, using 2 motorbikes. While crossing the Kelapa Gading (area), the suspects saw the victim driving a motorbike alone," said Wibowo.

The PPSU officer realized that he was being followed, so he accelerated his motorbike. However, said Wibowo, the suspects were after him. There was a chase.

"The perpetrator, JS, tried to take the victim's motorbike by force, assisted by AZ, who stabbed and injured the victim, namely the upper left wrist," explained Wibowo.

Although the victim was injured, the suspects failed to steal the victim's motorbike. Because, said Wibowo, the victim screamed for help and was heard by security on Jalan Accordion, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

“The victim defended his motorbike while shouting, so that it provoked security. The suspects fled without the loot," he said.

The police, who received the report, immediately formed a special team, and finally managed to arrest the 4 perpetrators.

"For their actions, the four suspects are threatened with Article 365 and or 35 of the Criminal Code with a threat of eight years in prison," concluded Kombes Wibowo.
