120 Tons Of Packaged Cooking Oil Enters Tanjungpinang Kepri

TANJUNGPINANG - A total of 120 tons of packaged cooking oil of various brands have entered Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province (Kepri), using the sea route from Medan, North Sumatra.

Head of Price Stabilization at the Tanjungpinang Trade and Industry Office (Disdagin), Endy Febri, said that the shipment of cooking oil was carried out in two stages.

Endy explained that the first phase of shipments of 50 tons arrived on Monday, February 21 and the second phase of 70 tons arrived on Wednesday, February 23.

"Everything is sent from cooking oil producers in Medan," said Endy Febri, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 24.

Endy said the cooking oil had been distributed to the distributor warehouse under the producer from Medan in Tanjungpinang, to be further sold in traditional markets and modern retail.

Meanwhile, the highest retail price (HET) for cooking oil is set at Rp13,500 to Rp14,000.

He guarantees that the availability of cooking oil in the area is currently safe, even able to last until the month of Ramadan which falls in early April 2022.

Previously, according to him, the stock of cooking oil in Tanjungpinang was feared to be scarce, due to constraints in changing the delivery schedule from Medan.

"Now the stock of cooking oil is sufficient, so residents don't need to panic buy," he said.

Endy also ensured that his party and related agencies would routinely monitor the buying and selling of cooking oil on the market to anticipate hoarding and price games.
