TEMANGGUNG - Regent of Temanggung M. Al Khadziq asked traders not to sell cooking oil by "bundling", which is combined with other products in one package.

"The sale of bundling is detrimental to the community, because people do not necessarily need the follow-up goods that are sold. The fall of the community is spending excess money," said Khadziq, in Temanggung, Central Java, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 24.

He said that currently there is a trend of traders taking advantage of selling cooking oil by bundling other goods. This is detrimental to society.

Therefore, his party has ordered the SME Cooperatives and Trade Office to supervise and take action against traders who sell by bundling.

Khadziq said that the Temanggung Regency Government will immediately conduct a cooking oil market operation to help residents get it at a price below the highest retail price (HET).

According to him, market operations will be held in areas far from markets or supermarkets, including in the southern part of Temanggung.

"Currently it is difficult for people to get cooking oil below Rp. 14,000 per liter," he said.

He explained that his party had coordinated with the provincial government to conduct a cooking oil market operation. The approved quantity is above 4,000 liters.

Supervision of cooking oil in the field is carried out by a team that includes members from the Trade Service, Satpol PP, Polri, and related agencies.

Head of the SME Cooperatives and Trade Office of Temanggung Regency, Entargo Yutri Wardono, said that after submitting a request to the Central Java Provincial Government, 4,800 liters of cooking oil were finally approved for market operations to reduce cooking oil prices.

"The OP is carried out in certain places. In the cooking oil OP, each family will only get a maximum of 2 liters of cooking oil," he said.
