JAKARTA - BPJS Kesehatan President Director Ghufron Mukti stated that the presence of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2022 concerning Optimizing the Implementation of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN) encourages people to realize the importance of health insurance.

"Until now, there are some people who have misperceptions. The presence of this Presidential Instruction is a strategic step to remind the public that participation in the JKN-KIS Program is mandatory," said Ghufron Mukti, at the Merdeka Barat 9 Forum activity (FMB9) which was attended from YouTube FMB9 in Jakarta, Thursday 24 February.

He said the government instructed the 30 ministries/agencies to require JKN-KIS for various purposes, in order to ensure that all Indonesians were protected by health, through the JKN-KIS Program.

The Presidential Instruction, he said, also improves access and quality of services, quality of membership data, validity of membership data as well as socialization and education of the JKN-KIS program.

Ghufron said BPJS Kesehatan seeks to improve the quality of services through continuous innovation, so that it can make it easier for participants to get health services.

Currently, BPJS Kesehatan has synergized with the population and civil registration offices, so that JKN-KIS participants only need to state their Population Identification Number (NIK) and show their e-KTP to access health services.
