Golkar Electability Survey Drops, Airlangga Still Nominated As Presidential Candidate 2024

JAKARTA - The electability of the Golkar Party has been shifted by the Democratic Party in the results of the latest Kompas Research and Development survey. The Golkar Party, which has always been in the top three, now has to settle for fourth.

Meanwhile, the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, was not included in the list of selected presidential candidates. In fact, the Golkar Party is determined to carry the Coordinating Minister for the Economy.

So, is the Banyan Party still forcing Airlangga to nominate in the 2024 presidential election?

Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, said that his party remains optimistic about promoting Airlangga as a presidential candidate.

He claimed that the public's response to Airlangga was still quite high. It's just that according to him, Airlangga has not been able to optimally play a role as a presidential candidate because he is still carrying out his duties as Jokowi's assistant.

"Indeed, there is still a gap, because Mr. Airlangga stepped down to carry out his duties and responsibilities as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy. He is not yet 100 percent as chairman as a presidential candidate", said Doli, Wednesday, February 23.

The chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives said the Golkar Party would continue to intensively socialize Airlangga even since three months ago. This, said Doli, will also continue until the 2024 presidential election approaches.

"We also cannot deny the community that Pak Airlangga has been nominated by Golkar", said Doli.
