MAMUJU - The Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) of Mamuju Regency has deployed personnel to search for a fisherman who was reported missing in Bababulo Waters, Majene Regency.

The head of the Mamuju Search and Rescue Office, Muhammad Arif Anwar, confirmed the disappearance of a fisherman in the Bababulo waters, Pamboang District, Majene Regency.

"We received a report on Tuesday, February 22 around 23.45 WITA and immediately dispatched a rescue team from the Mamuju Search and Rescue Office to the location where the fisherman was reported missing", he said, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, February 23.

The fisherman named Borahing (44) was reported missing by his family while going to sea on Tuesday, February 22, at around 18.00 WITA.

However, as of 23.30 WITA, the fisherman who went to sea using the wooden boat had not yet returned, so the family and the community did a search but to no avail.

"Based on the report of the victim's family, the fisherman went to sea on Tuesday, February 22 afternoon but did not return until late at night. The community and fishermen made search efforts but the results were in vain so they were reported to Basarnas", said Muhammad Arif Anwar.

The Mamuju Search and Rescue Office Rescue Team, he continued, formed a search post around the location of the missing fisherman.

"As of this afternoon (Wednesday) the search for the Bababulo waters area is still being carried out by a joint SAR team, from the Mamuju Basarnas, Majene Regional Disaster Management Agency and local police and the surrounding community to look for the fisherman", said Muhammad Arif Anwar.
