COVID-19 Update As Of February 23: Added New Cases Of 61,488, Currently There Are 571,522 Patients

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 519,532 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 61,488 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,350,912 and active cases have fallen by 22,091 to 571,522", said Health Ministry data, Wednesday, February 23.

Cases recovered on the day increased by 39,170 people, bringing the total to 4,632.55 recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 227 cases and a total of 147,025 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 14,100 cases and a total of 959,785 cases. Followed by East Java which has 7,486 new cases with a total of 509,533 cases. DKI Jakarta has 7,295 new cases and a total of 1,147,528 cases. Central Java has 5,418 new cases and a total of 552,516 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 9,677 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 8,200 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 5,828 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 4,668 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 82,452,848.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 17.42 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 36,258 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, there are currently 190,092,902 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 141,806,330 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 8,974,957. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
