Anies Prepares Jakarta's Foundation To Become A Global Economic City Ahead Of Capital Relocation

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is currently preparing a development plan until 2026. This step will be the foundation towards Jakarta's status as a global economic city when the capital moves to the archipelago.

This he conveyed in the Public Consultation Forum for the Preparation of the 2023-2026 Regional Development Plan which was held online.

"Currently Jakarta is drawing up steps until 2026. Because the 2023-2026 period is a short period, we must prepare the foundation for Jakarta to become a global economic city. It is not only the center of the Indonesian economy but the center of the global economy," said Anies, Wednesday, February 23.

When Jakarta becomes the center of the economic city, Anies said it will have a fundamental impact on how Jakarta operates in terms of administration, authority, and the economy. So it needs planning and management going forward.

In order to achieve this vision, Governor Anies invites all parties to collaborate in building this city in the future.

“This is the momentum for all of us to compose a vision for Jakarta in the future. Jakarta is a common property. For this reason, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government encourages the participation and collaboration of all elements of society in building this city," he said.

It is known, this forum is a form of follow-up to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 70 of 2021 which regulates the stages and procedures for the preparation of Regional Development Plans (RPD) and Strategic Plans (Renstra) for Regional Apparatuses for 2023-2026.

This Public Consultation Forum was held to absorb suggestions and/or input from regional development stakeholders, including also from Regional Representative Council (DPRD) elements.
