Traders At Kramat Jati Market Say The Meat Price Increase Has Happened Since Last Week

JAKARTA - The price of beef at Kramat Jati Market has increased by Rp. 10 thousand. According to meat traders, the increase has occurred since one week ago.

"It's been going up for a week, at first it was 120 thousand per kilogram, now it's 130 thousand," beef trader Ranta Wijaya told reporters, Tuesday, February 22.

Meanwhile, the price of chicken meat at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, is still relatively normal.

Chicken meat trader, Moh, said that the price was still around Rp. 25,000 to Rp. 38,000 per head.

"The Rp 38 thousand weighs about 1 kilogram 2 ounces," said Moh.

Moh also said that the price of chicken meat had increased a month ago, but has now returned to normal.

"Yesterday, it was Rp. 45 thousand per head," said Moh.

Not only beef, the price of red cayenne pepper has also increased to Rp. 15 thousand.

"Now it's going up, yes. Yesterday it was still 55 thousand or 60 thousand per kilogram, now 70 thousand are raw cayenne pepper," said Adha, one of the traders.

Adha also said that the price of red curly chili had increased by Rp. 5,000 per kilogram, from Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 45,000 per kilogram.

"It has gone up in the past week. The onion has also gone up, usually selling for 25-30 thousand per kilogram, now it's 40 thousand," he said.
