Three Children Drowning In Donan River Cilacap, Still Looking For SAR Team

PURWOKERTO - Three children were reported missing due to drowning in the Donan River, Kutawaru Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java.

"Based on the reports we received, the unfortunate incident occurred at 16.30 WIB when the children were bathing around Jojok Pier, Kutawaru Village, Central Cilacap District," said Head of the Cilacap Search and Rescue Office (KPP/Basarnas), I Nyoman Sidakarya. quoted by Antara, Monday, February 21.

According to him, the three children did not realize that the water conditions of the Donan River, which is part of Segara Anakan Cilacap, were rising, until they finally drowned.

Regarding this information, his party immediately dispatched a team from the Cilacap Basarnas to the scene of the incident to find and help all the victims.

"Until now, we are still searching for the three victims using fishing nets, doing dives at the scene, as well as conducting sweeps above the water surface using the Aqua Eye and Fish Finder tools to detect victims below the water surface," he said.

In addition to Basarnas, said I Nyoman Sidakarya, the search operation also involved personnel from the Cilacap Police Water Police Unit, Cilacap Naval Base, Cilacap Regency BPBD, Cilacap RAPI, Cilacap Rescue, Jojok Volunteers, MTA SAR, Kutawaru SAR, Kutawaru Fishermen Association, and assisted by local residents and the victim's family.

Meanwhile, the Head of Kutawaru Village, Slamet, said that based on reports from the kelurahan officials, before the detention incident occurred, it was known that there were four children bathing around the Kutawaru Pier.

But unlucky, he said, three of the four children were reported missing due to drowning, while one other child was found safe.

"The child who was found safe has the initials Rm (9), while the three children who are still being searched have the initials DL (11), TH (11), and Sy (9), said Slamet.
