First Singaporean Tourists Come To Lagoi February 25

TANJUNGPINANG - The Riau Islands Province Tourism Office said tourists from Singapore will enter Lagoi, an international tourism area in Bintan Regency, starting February 25.

The Head of Dispar Kepri Buralimar has not been able to confirm the number of tourists from Singapore who have visited Lagoi for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

"We have not received the data from the management of the tourism area in Lagoi," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, February 21

Buralimar said the inaugural visit of tourists from countries neighboring Riau Islands would be welcomed by Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad. However, the welcoming activities are carried out in a simple manner to maintain the comfort of the tourists.

Governor Ansar will also welcome the arrival of tourists from Singapore to an integrated international tourism area in Nongsa, Batam on February 23, 2022. The number of tourists from Singapore visiting Nongsa is around 30 people. However, this number has the potential to increase.

"Welcome is not done in a festive, crowded, and long but simple but interesting. This is solely to maintain the comfort of foreign tourists," he said.

Buralimar said all tourists from Singapore are required to do a swab test upon arrival at Bentan Telani Lagoi Port and Nongsa Port. They immediately entered the tourism car to the hotel that had been prepared while waiting for the results of the PCR swab test.

"Health protocols are still enforced according to applicable regulations. We want and strive for foreign tourists to feel safe and comfortable. They can be quarantined while traveling in integrated areas," he said.

He explained that the visit of tourists from Singapore was related to the implementation of the "travel bubble" or tourist travel bubbles in Lagoi and Nongsa. The tourist travel bubble program in the integrated tourism area has been planned since a year ago.

"The central government has repeatedly seen the readiness of Lagoi and Nongsa to carry out the travel bubble program while prioritizing the implementation of health protocols," he said.
