PALEMBANG - South Sumatra Police (Sumsel) revealed the post-mortem results of a detainee from the North Lubuk Linggau Police, Lubuk Linggau City, who was found dead some time ago.

The male prisoner with the initials H (45), a resident of Sumber Agung Village, Lubuk Linggau Utara I District, Lubuk Linggau City, died with bruises on several parts of his body.

The Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Supriadi, said that referring to the post-mortem results carried out by medical personnel at the local hospital, the bruises on the detainees' bodies were bruising, not due to violence as recently suspected.

"The results of the post-mortem submitted by the hospital show that there are indeed bruises. But not because of the violence, but the bruising of the body," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 18.

However, according to Supriadi, his party wants an autopsy examination to be carried out on the detainee's body so that the cause of the bruises can be determined with certainty.

"Including, we want to determine whether the cause of death of the victim is due to other diseases that can be identified by autopsy," he said.

However, he said, the autopsy of the detainee's body was rejected by the family, and now the body has been taken by the family and has been buried.

Apart from all that, Supriadi emphasized that the Propam Division of the South Sumatra Police together with the Propam of the Lubuk Linggau Police continued to conduct investigations against members of the local Police regarding the case of the death of the detainee.

"Everything, both the picket officers and the investigators, will be examined. If it is found that there is an element of negligence, they will be dealt with according to the law. We will open the results of the examination transparently," he said.
