BEKASI - A house belonging to the Masuti family (35) who lives in Tambun Bohir Village, RT 21/12, Buni Bakti Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, was destroyed by a tornado.

"I was hit by a tornado yesterday, my roof is no longer there, it was blown to pieces by the wind," said Masuti, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

She said the cyclone incident initially appeared in rice fields which is approximately 500 meters from the front of his house.

Masuti then asked her youngest son to come into the house.

"It was 'very' dark yesterday afternoon, at first I saw the wind from the rice field swirl, 'big'. It was also raining lightly. Then I told my son to come in, my husband was already inside, my older child is at the neighbor's house," she said.

Not long after, she said, there was a rumbling sound from above her house. Immediately the wind carried the asbestos roof of her house towards the back.

Masuti and her husband and child, who were in the house at that time, immediately ran outside to save themselves.

"It happened very quickly, the roof was blown away by the wind. Immediately, my husband and children went out," she said.

She admitted that the incident even caused the electric cable that had been running on the roof of her house for a long time to be carried away by the tornado. Several trees were also broken due to the strong winds.

"The asbestos was destroyed, then the power line was broken towards the back. Luckily I ran towards the front of the house. The tree in the back was also broken. Only my house was hit, my neighbors didn't," she said.

She and her family are now forced to flee to a relative's house who lives near the scene. She has not yet received any assistance from the local government.

"Villagers have visited. There has been no help whatsoever. Just come to see what the conditions are like," Masuti said.
