Ministry Of Transportation Prepares 4 Shipping Routes For MotoGP Mandalika

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation has prepared four shipping routes for the 2022 MotoGP audience in Mandalika.

"To support sea transportation traffic, there are several fleets of ships serving shipping routes," said Acting Director General of Sea Transportation Arif Toha, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

Arif explained that the four shipping routes to support the Mandalika MotoGP are: the Surabaya-Lembar route with two Ro-Ro ships PT Damai Lautan Nusantara (DLN) and one Ro-Ro ship PT Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU), the Surabaya-Ro-Ro route. Sheet-Waingapu uses one Ro-Ro ship owned by PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or Pelni, the Benoa-Lembar-Bima route uses one Pelni passenger ship, the Tanjung Wangi-Lembar route will use three Ro-Ro ships belonging to PT Atosim Lampung Shipping (ALP).

The Ministry of Transportation has prepared Lembar Port with the latest facilities, namely the Gilimas Terminal. This terminal is prepared to anticipate the increase in passenger movement going to Mandalika by sea.

The distance from Gilimas Terminal to Lembar Harbor is only 7 (seven) kilometers, with a travel duration of about 15 minutes by land.

The distance from Gilimas Terminal to the Mandalika circuit is about 50 kilometers, with a travel duration of about one hour.

"Gilimas was built to serve cruise ships from abroad or foreign tourists. So the terminal capacity is bigger, around 1,500 people," he said.

The Ministry of Transportation is also preparing to issue a Ship Operation Plan (RPK) to Lembar Port, including two passenger Ferry units (Eka Jaya 23 and 26) PT Bali Eka Jaya, one passenger ship (Ostina 3) and one tourist boat (Golden Queen). PT Walacea Jalesveva Lestari, a passenger ship PT Pelayaran Tarji Samudera, a tourist ship PT The Tanis Lembogan Ekspres.

Not only that, his party also provides support in the form of floating accommodation using two PT Pelni vessels, namely KM Kelud with a capacity of 1,398 beds and KM Sinabung with a capacity of 1,898 beds, and one Dharma Kencana ship belonging to PT DLU with a capacity of 600 beds.

"So there will be additional accommodation, if needed by MotoGP visitors later," he concluded.
