MEDAN - Two people who stole the iron fence in the PKOK Christian cemetery in Sendang Sari Village, West Kisaran City District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, were arrested by the police.

Asahan Police Head of Public Relations, Ipda Charles Sianipar said the two perpetrators were YW (25) and PA alias Kimpau (25). The two perpetrators were arrested on the report of their victim, Yustina Ginting (61), Tuesday, February 15.

Ipda Charles explained that the theft was discovered when the victim received news via telephone that the fence and door of her husband's grave had been stolen.

"Receiving the news, the victim, together with the witness, looked at the grave. After checking, the fence and the door made of stainless steel were taken away by the perpetrator," said Ipda Charles, Wednesday, February 16.

The victim then reported it to the Asahan Police. The victim claimed to have suffered a loss of Rp. 10 million.

From the victim's report, the police arrested the perpetrator of the theft of the iron fence on Jalan Sei Dua, Sendang Sari Village.

"At 14.30 WIB, the Jatanras Unit arrested the perpetrator known to have the initials Y in Sendang Sari Village," said Ipda Charles.

When arrested, perpetrator Y fought back. As a result, the officer was forced to shoot him in the leg.

"Perpetrator Y admitted to the act together with a friend with the initials Kimpau. Then the officers immediately secured Kimpau on Jalan Sei Kopas," he said.

Like his colleague, when he was arrested, the Kimpau perpetrator tried to fight the police and was shot in the leg.

"While at the hospital, the perpetrator admitted to the theft 2 (two) times," he concluded.
