SOLO - The Solo City Government, Central Java, with the support of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will immediately renovate the Surakarta Palace Grand Mosque. there are several points of damage in the mosque building.

"We have also surveyed the location, the budget is from the PUPR Ministry," said Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, Antara, Thursday, February 10.

Gibran said some of the concerns were termite attacks in several parts of the building.

"Termites have been investigated, it's very worrying. The pillars are bad, it's time to revitalize. Mr. Muktarom (Chairman of the Takmir Management of the Great Mosque of the Surakarta Palace, ed.) has reported, the columns, the roof is bad. Actually the renovations are continuing, but the renovations are minor," he said.

However, Gibran has not been able to confirm exactly when the renovation will be carried out. "Just wait, this is just a study. Looks like next year," he said.

He said the building renovation and parking arrangement would be returned to the initial situation. "There are no proposals whatsoever during the meeting. It must be returned when the initial situation was like," he said.

As for the arrangement of traders who usually sell around the Great Mosque of Surakarta, he is still reluctant to explain.

Chairman of the Takmir Management of the Great Mosque of the Surakarta Palace Muhammad Muhtarom said that the renovation of the main building was the responsibility of the PUPR Ministry.
