Strong Winds Damage Several Houses In Palabuhanratu

SUKABUMI - Strong winds that hit the Palabuhanratu area, Sukabumi Regency, West Java caused a number of houses to be destroyed, especially on the roof.

Strong winds swept over Kutamekar Village, RT 03/10, Palabuhanratu Sub-district/Sub-district, it was recorded that five houses had their roofs destroyed due to strong winds and it is possible that the number will increase.

"This incident just happened at around 18.00 western Indonesia time, when the incident coincided with heavy rain, the sound of the thundering wind added to the panic of the residents, who happened to be the residents' settlements right on the edge of the football field and there were many large trees," said one resident whose house Supriadi (38) was quoted as saying by Antara, Wednesday, February 9.

Meanwhile, Head of RT 03 Hendi added that five houses were damaged on the roof, such as roof tiles and damaged asbestos. This strong wind is because when the Palabuhanratu area has entered the west wind season.

According to Hendi, from the results of data collection conducted by his party, all houses were in a state of serious damage and some of the homeowners had fled. However, there are also those who stay at home because they are confused about finding a place of refuge.

"Until now, residents are still working together to clean up the rubble of damaged houses, but the heavy rain has not let up until nightfall," he added.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant because strong winds like this will continue to hit and do not know when it will subside. In addition, according to him, no officers have come to the location either from the village, sub-district, or the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency.
