COVID-19 Update As Of 9 February: 46,843 New Cases, 265,824 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 404,506 specimens were examined with the results of 46,843 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,626,936 people and active cases have increased by 32,762 to 265,824 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, February 9.

Today's recovered cases increased by 14,016 cases, bringing the total to 4,216,328 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 65 people and a total of 144,784 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 14,353 cases and a total of 1,108,822 cases. Followed by West Java with 11,201 new cases with a total of 790,789 cases. Banten has 6,026 new cases and a total of 183,595 cases. Then, East Java with 4,385 new cases and a total of 420,981 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 8,900 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 2,305 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 1,310 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 356 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 75,685,093.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 8.32 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 23,512 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 187,290,007 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 132,667,991 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 6,034,892. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
