Added 35 People, COVID-19 Cases In Central Bangka Soared To 72

BABEL - The Health Service of Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, stated that there were 72 positive COVID-19 patients or an increase of 35 cases from the previous 37 active cases.

Head of the Central Bangka Health Office, Dr. Anas Maarif in Koba, said Wednesday that active cases began to show an increasing graph in recent days.

"However, we haven't found any patients exposed to the omicron variant and we need to anticipate this", he said as quoted by Antara on Wednesday, February 9.

Tabulated data on the development of COVID-19 cases at the Central Bangka Health Office recorded a total of 6,721 people who were confirmed positive.

Of the 6,712, 6,459 people have been declared cured, 181 died and as many as 72 patients are in isolation (active cases).

The local government is now concentrating on handling cases of the new Coronavirusby continuing to vaccinate, socialize health protocols and prepare all adequate medical equipment.

The Health Office appealed to residents not to be complacent and to continue to be careful with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, especially the Omicron variant.

Based on the case distribution data, he said, four sub-districts were declared vulnerable, namely Pangkalanbaru, Namang, Koba and Simpangkatis sub-districts, with a higher case finding rate.

"The tabulated data also records that the age of vulnerable people exposed to the new Coronaviruses 55 to 69 years", said Anas Maarif.
