Demak Religious Tourism Pedicab Association Supports Cak Imin In The 2024 Presidential Election, As Long As Modification Of Becak With Flour Machine Is Legalized

DEMAK - Tour pedicab service providers who are members of the religious tourism pedicab association in Demak Regency, declared support for the PKB General Chair, Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) running as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

The support for Cak Imin was declared by the tour rickshaw service providers in front of the Great Mosque of Demak, Central Java when Cak Imin was about to make a pilgrimage to Raden Patah's Tomb, Tuesday, February 8.

The head of the Demak Religious Tourism Pedicab Association, Suwito, explained his reasons for supporting Cak Imin. Cak Imin So far, he has been close to the small people, especially the tourist rickshaws.

"When there are problems, complaints are conveyed to him. For that, when he stated that he was ready to run in the 2024 presidential election, I and my friends supported him," said Suwito, quoted from Antara.

On that occasion, he also conveyed the desire of tourist rickshaw service providers to legalize the modification of rickshaws with flour-making machines because the majority of rickshaw pullers are old enough to be strong enough to pedal long distances.

Moreover, he said, the machine used was also of low speed so that the safety of passengers was guaranteed. He hoped that Cak Imin would care about the small community, especially the service providers of tourist rickshaws with very minimal income because they rely on tourists who make pilgrimages to the City of Wali.

Traders at Demak's Bintoro Market also gave support after Cak Imin took the time to greet them.

Luluk, a fruit trader at Bintoro Market, said he was ready to support Cak Imin as a presidential candidate as long as he could fulfill the wishes of the traders.

He then mentioned a number of their wishes, including ensuring the availability of basic commodities needed by the community and stable selling prices, arranging traditional markets, especially Bintoro Market, to be even better by controlling illegal traders around the market.

"When we become president, we hope to be honest and trustworthy and put more importance on the interests of the small people so that they will be more prosperous," he said.

Cak Imin's visit to Demak included meeting his supporters at the Bakso Semar Restaurant, Wonokerto Village, Karangtengah District.
