MADIUN - The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Madiun City Police, East Java, arrested as many as 10 suspects in drug and hard drug abuse cases during January to early February 2022.

Madiun City Police Chief AKBP Dewa Putu Eka Darmawan said the suspects were arrested from a number of locations and some were development cases.

"According to the data, eight suspects were arrested in the Taman District, one in the Kartoharjo District, and one in the Manguharjo District," said AKBP Dewa during a press conference at the Madiun City Police Headquarters, reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 8.

As for the evidence that was secured from the 10 suspects various kinds, namely methamphetamine drugs weighing 6.42 grams, 50 hard drugs in the form of Double L pills, and 95 hard drugs of the type "Trihexyphenidyl".

Of the total 10 suspects, some are users and some are dealers or couriers. Allegedly, the target sales of these drugs are students. Head of the Madiun City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Aris Harianto, added that the arrested suspects were from Madiun City, Madiun Regency, Magetan, Bojonegoro, and Nganjuk.

Meanwhile, the suspect of abuse of hard drugs is charged with Article 196 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health.
